Christie Traykov

Christie Traykov

Christie Traykov is the lead designer for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) in Ottawa. She specializes in corporate brand implementation across both print and digital platforms. Christie graduated from the Graphic Design course at Algonquin College, specializing in web/interactive design and motion graphics. Her hobbies are fine arts, traveling, and being a CSS whiz. Miriam Goldman

Miriam Goldman

Miriam is a PHP software developer by day for a startup company in Kanata, and by night, she is either a freelance WordPress developer, a karate sensei, or a competitive latin dancer – it depends on the day.

She self-taught herself HTML in the land of Geocities in the late 1990s, and likes to believe that her career path was started back in the mid 1980s, playing computer games on a Commodore 64, sitting on her father’s lap.

WordCamp Ottawa 2017’s Lead Organizer, Meagan Hanes is a designer of digital things, fine artist, entrepreneur, bard, open-source girl and general life wanderer. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Meagan travels across Canada, the USA, and the world sharing WordPress knowledge at WordCamps and Meetups, mentoring WordCamps, and teaching others to code. You’ll often find her with a musical instrument in hand 🙂

Troy Chaplin

Troy Chaplin

Troy Chaplin is a passionate WordPress theme developer who enjoys pushing the envelope with each new project. With over 10 years of experience in creative environments, Troy has dedicated the last six years to working with WordPress in a variety of different ways. Troy currents works as a WordPress theme developer at Carleton University, assisting in enhancing their online brand and web presence and providing content editors with intuitive tools to promote their various initiatives and activities. @troychaplin

Michael Corkum

Michael Corkum

Mike Corkum is a seasoned web developer with over 14 years of experience. Currently, he works at Carleton University where he and a small team manage 250+ WordPress sites. When he’s not up to his neck in code or banging his head against his desk, he enjoys playing music and jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. @cuweb

Shawn Hooper

Shawn Hooper

Shawn has been a web developer since the early days of the web, with experience developing sites for private, public and non-profit sectors. He is now the Chief Technology Officer at Actionable Books, where, in addition to other duties, he manages several sites built with WordPress. At night and on the weekends, he’s a WordPress Core Contributor and plugin author. He’s also spoken at WordCamps and Meetups in Canada, the United States and Australia.

Rick Radko

Rick Radko

Rick Radko is a WordPress guru, a developer/designer and trainer. He has been creating web sites and apps since 1996, and has worked with WordPress since 2008. When spreading the word about WordPress, he is as comfortable talking to beginners in plain English as he is talking geek speak to developers. Rick was one of the founders of the Ottawa WordPress Meetup group. Rick lead the launch of the inaugural WordCamp Ottawa in 2013.

He is the founder of R-Cubed Design Forge, http://r3df.com­, where he develops: custom plugins (several are in the wordpress.org repo), custom themes and multilingual web sites. @r3designforge
